Another important thing to be submitted to pursue master degree or to get a scholarship besides statement of study plan is recommendation letter or reference letter that is given by supervisor or lecturer or important people who know you well and describe about who you are. This letter has no longer sentence, just a short and solid one which has brief explanation about you. Only two or three paragraphs are okay. Most of supervisor will provide this one to you, but others will ask you to make it, and they just check and sign on the letter. It will give a profit also, you will improve your writing sill ability that an ability really hard to have. I will give one example about recommendation letter, no big deal, this is not the best. But it is okay to be submitted as your reference letter.

How To Make A Statement of Study Plan

Making a statement of study plan is pretty important to show your planning in studying in particular degree. Then, university authority could understand your purpose in the university that is chosen. You have to consider some significant things that make your statement of study plan stronger, such as organizing paragraph and each paragraph content.

The first important thing is how to organize your paragraph, if you can flow the best idea without a good paragraph structure, it will be quite confuse to reader. So that you have to make it easy to be understand and has a well structure. Where you put the idea will hook the reader to read more and make curiosity of reader to know more about you. My decision to apply for master program in Underwater Acoustics at Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) is driven by my strong desire to be able to explore the seabed, especially in Aceh. Aceh, one of provinces in Indonesia, is surrounded by ocean which gives a lot of mineral resources such as oil, gas and natural resources. On the other hand, according to the geographical condition, Aceh is located on the ‘pacific ring of fire’ which causes many earthquakes every year. These natural resources are still difficult to be reached from the bottom of the ocean because of a lack of professionals and scientists in seabed exploration.

Analysis of sound absorption coefficient (Case study: Gypsum panel, gypsum-palm fiber, palm fiber-gypsum, foam concrete-palm fiber)

This research was conducted to analyze the absorption coefficients of sound at several types of materials as well as its combinations. The aim of this research was to find the value of sound absorption coefficients on the materials and its combinations. The materials used in this research were gypsum panel, gypsum-fiber palm, fiber palm-gypsum, and foamed concrete-fiber palm. The test was conducted by using a method of reverberation chamber based on the ISO 354-1985 with the types of the sound source: white noise and pink noise at frequency of 125 Hz – 8000 Hz. Based on the test results of white noise, it was found that the panel of gypsum-fiber palm has α = 0.93 at low frequency; the panel of fiber palm has α = 0.97 at medium frequency; and the panel of foamed concrete-fiber palm has α = 0.89 at high frequency. Further, for the sound source of pink noise, it was found that the panel of gypsum-fiber palm has α = 0.99 at low level; the panel of fiber palm-gypsum has α = 0.86 at medium level; and the panel of fiber palm-gypsum has α = 0.64 at high level. Analisa Koefisien Absorpsi Bunyi


Telah dilakukan penelitian untuk menganalisis koefisien absorpsi bunyi pada beberapa jenis bahan beserta dengan kombinasinya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan nilai koefisien absorpsi bunyi pada bahan dan kombinasinya. Bahan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah panel gipsum, gipsum-ijuk, ijuk-gipsum, dan beton busa-ijuk. Pengujian dilakukan dengan metode ruang dengung berdasarkan ISO 354–1985 dengan menggunakan jenis sumber bunyi white noise dan pink noise pada rentang frekuensi 125 Hz – 8000 Hz. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian untuk sumber bunyi white noise diperoleh pada frekuensi rendah panel gipsum-ijuk memiliki α = 0,93, pada frekuensi sedang panel ijuk dengan α = 0,97, pada frekuensi tinggi panel beton busa-ijuk mempunyai α = 0,89. Untuk jenis sumber bunyi pink noisediperoleh pada frekuensi rendah panel gipsum-ijuk mempunyai α = 0,99, pada frekuensi sedang panel ijuk-gipsum mempunyai α = 0,86, dan pada frekuensi tinggi panel ijuk-gipsum mempunyai α = 0,64. Panel ijuk dapat menyerap bunyi dengan baik karena memiliki rongga udara (pori) yang lebih besar dari beton busa dan gipsum, sehingga bunyi yang datang mengenai bahan akan terperangkap di dalam rongga.
